Abstract

This study aims to understand students' interaction with campus journals from a usability perspective, using the Nielsen Usability Testing Model as the framework. The study adopted a quantitative approach to collect and analyze data, with the respondents being student journal users. The main variables examined include ease of learning, efficiency of use, ease of recall, user errors, user satisfaction, and usage behaviour. The online survey method was used to collect responses to a specially designed questionnaire, which was then analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The results showed that ease of learning and efficiency of use significantly affected user satisfaction, positively impacting campus journal usage behavior. User error was found to hurt satisfaction, emphasizing the importance of intuitive and user-friendly interface design. This study contributes to the literature on the usability of digital resources in education, particularly in the context of campus journals, and opens up further research opportunities in developing adequate digital learning resources.
