Abstract

This study discusses the significance of applying Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence (BI) in supporting the determination of strategic locations for restaurants and cafés in Bandung, a city experiencing rapid growth alongside increasing tourist visits, particularly in culinary tourism. The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of a system capable of integrating spatial and non-spatial data to support data-driven decision-making. The methods employed include the ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process and the Nine Step Methodology in developing a Data Warehouse that stores restaurant and cafe data from 2020–2022. The system is equipped with a Business Intelligence Dashboard to present analyses of location trends, consumer preferences, and regional density based on spatial and demographic attributes. The findings indicate that the system can validate and facilitate business owners in identifying potential locations more accurately and efficiently. The contribution of this research is providing an implementation model of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence as a strategic solution for the restaurant and cafe industry amid increasingly intense competition.
